Hello, I’m Francois. I’m an online counsellor offering warm, trauma-informed therapy for adults who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck, or unsure how to make sense of what they are carrying.
My work is grounded in the belief that therapy is not about fixing people. It is about creating a relationship where you can feel safe enough to be honest, curious, and more fully yourself.
Many people come to therapy after years of coping alone. They may have learned to minimise their needs, hide parts of themselves, manage everyone else’s emotions, or keep going even when something inside them feels exhausted.
I offer a space where you do not have to perform being okay.
Why I work this way
My passion for counselling comes from a deep belief in the importance of being truly heard.
So many of us move through life carrying things we were never given enough space to understand. Pain can become buried. Emotions can become managed rather than felt. Identity can become shaped around survival, belonging, or what other people needed us to be.
Therapy can offer something different.
A place to slow down.
A place to notice what has been hidden.
A place to understand yourself without judgement.
A place to begin relating to yourself with more compassion.
My approach as a counsellor
I work integratively, which means I tailor therapy to you rather than fitting you into a single method.
My work is informed by person-centred, pluralistic, trauma-informed, relational, and somatic approaches.
In practice, this means I pay attention to:
- your story and lived experience
- your emotions and patterns
- what happens in relationships
- how your body responds to stress, fear, shame, or overwhelm
- what feels helpful or unhelpful for you as therapy unfolds
I see therapy as something we build together. You are not a passive recipient of treatment. You are an active part of shaping the work.
Who I work with
I work with adults experiencing many different forms of emotional distress, including:
- anxiety and overthinking
- trauma and emotional overwhelm
- shame and self-criticism
- low mood or disconnection
- identity exploration
- LGBTQIA+ related experiences
- relationship difficulties
- people-pleasing and boundaries
- grief, loss, and life transitions
- feeling stuck, lost, or unsure of yourself
You do not need to know exactly what the problem is before beginning therapy. Sometimes the first part of the work is simply making sense of what feels heavy.
My commitment
At the core of my work is a deep belief in the power of relationships to transform lives.
Therapy isn’t just about techniques it’s about connection.
Growth, understanding, and healing emerge through the relationship we build, which is why I focus on trust, safety, and mutual understanding.
I bring warmth, honesty, and authenticity to our sessions, engaging fully rather than observing from a distance. I listen deeply to what’s spoken and unspoken and remain curious about our dynamic.
Your thoughts, feelings, silences, and hesitations are all welcome here.
They all matter in this space.
I see therapy as a collaborative and genuine process, free from performance or pretence.
Here, you can ask questions, set boundaries, express discomfort, and bring your full self. Together, we’ll explore what supports you, what needs attention, and what fosters growth, a journey we’ll navigate as partners.
Therapy can sometimes feel vulnerable or challenging, but we’ll meet those moments with care and respect. Even tension or rupture, when approached thoughtfully, can hold the potential for deep healing.
Whether you’re seeking to feel truly seen, process pain, or grow into a more authentic version of yourself, I’ll meet you with openness, integrity, and deep respect for your unique journey.
